BOTOX
Botox® is a purified protein called Botulinum Toxin that is injected into the facial muscles, causing them to relax and soften the face lines or wrinkles for up to four months. The skin appears smoother within one to two days for most patients and continues to improve over the next several weeks.
The injections themselves produce only minimal discomfort. Some patients experience slight after effects in the injected areas, such as tenderness, swelling, redness, bleeding, bruising or infection. Other side effects include headache, respiratory infection or flu symptoms, nausea, eyelid drooping and double vision. Like the desired effects of Botox, the side effects, too, wear off over time. It is possible to have an allergic reaction to Botox. Tell your doctor about any medical conditions you have prior to treatment.
