Botox / Juvederm

BOTOX

Botox® is a purified protein called Botulinum Toxin that is injected into the facial muscles, causing them to relax and soften the face lines or wrinkles for up to four months. The skin appears smoother within one to two days for most patients and continues to improve over the next several weeks.

The injections themselves produce only minimal discomfort. Some patients experience slight after effects in the injected areas, such as tenderness, swelling, redness, bleeding, bruising or infection. Other side effects include headache, respiratory infection or flu symptoms, nausea, eyelid drooping and double vision. Like the desired effects of Botox, the side effects, too, wear off over time. It is possible to have an allergic reaction to Botox. Tell your doctor about any medical conditions you have prior to treatment.

JUVEDERM

Juvederm® is a non-surgical dermal filler gel used to treat facial lines and wrinkles and provide a more youthful appearance.

Young skin has a an abundance of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally hydrating substance that starts to deplete with aging, environmental stresses and other factors. Less HA in the skin leads to the appearance of wrinkles and folds. By replenishing HA, Juvederm restores facial volume and softens wrinkles and lines. Results can last up to one year.

The injections produce only minimal discomfort. Some patients do experience side effects in the injected areas, such as pain, tenderness, swelling, itching, redness, bumps, bruising or infection. It is possible to have an allergic reaction to Juvederm.
